We received several emails* requesting the recipe for Humble Pie mentioned in our most recent Weekly(ish) digest.
*not really
Here's the recipe:
Step 1: Preparation
Call anything you disagree with "fake news" and "misinformation"
Use the terms "internet trolls" and "vocal minority"
Direct residents to the Town website for "real facts"
Suggest resident input doesn't count as much if not participating in one of the Mayor's preferred town volunteer activities
(optional) Shut down for two weeks, tell residents after you’re already gone
Step 2: Mix together in a bowl, stir slowly
Step 3: Place in pie crust/pan
Step 4: Bake
option 1 - "money" style: Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes (the amount of time Council spent discussing/approving the annual budget and declaring a fiscal emergency)
option 2 - "poet" style: Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes (the amount of time Council spent discussing a poet laureate)
Step 5 (Important!): Check results before serving
☑ Fail the SMARTMoraga Fact Check Series 0-for-6
☑ Have the Lamorinda Weekly say the Town is "on the Brink"
☑ Get the SF Chronicle Managing Editor to scold the Council
After confirming results, it’s ready to serve (and pairs well with a hubris aperitif).
